Individual Reimbursement Requests

Pursuant to Penal Code § 13823.95, law enforcement may seek reimbursement to offset the cost of conducting medical evidentiary examinations for victims of sexual assault. You may apply for up to $1,127 for victims that have determined at the time of examination to report the assault to law enforcement, and $911 for victims that are undecided. 


  1. Visit the MRG Suite at https://mrgsuite.com
  2. Enter your username and click "Check email"

  1. Enter your password and click "Sign in"


(3.b If you have not logged in recently, due to the security requirements of the system, you may be asked to go through a secondary authentication step with an SMS, Email, or OTP app code. Please see Using Google Authenticator for OTP, Use Duo Mobile for OTP, or Using Twilio Authy for OTP to set this up.)


  1. Review the list of reports received by your agency (example below uses dummy data). In the "CalOES Eligibility" column, hovering over the icon will tell you the status of an invoice. An orange status of "Eligible" indicates that no invoice has been submitted for this report.
  2. Click on the orange "Eligible" icon for the report that you would like to submit an invoice for.

  3. Click "Continue and create invoice" to confirm that would like to generate an invoice template.

A new invoice will have been created, and will appear at the top of your list of reports.

  1. Click the elipses on the far right of the browse reports table to open the options menu

  1. Select "Edit Report" from the options menu

  1. In section A, enter the Agency Name and Payment Address (mailing address for checks).

  1. Click "Next: B: Case Information" to navigate to the next section.

  1. Identify the Type of case, the Cost of the Exam, and the Reimbursement Requested (how much is being requested. Keep in mind the maximum will be either $1,127 or $911 depending on the type of exam).


  1. Click "Next: C: Submitter Information" to navigate to the next section.

  1. Consent to the electronic submission and provide a point of contact for the invoice.

  1. Click "Next: Final Review" to navigate to the final section.

  1. After reviewing the drafted invoice to make sure it is complete and has your agency logo, click "I have reviewed the completed report and it is ready to be locked and saved."

  1. Click "Lock" to confirm that you would like to lock the report.

  1. Click "Transmit Invoice" which should turn blue and become clickable after the report has been locked.

  1. Confirm the transmission by clicking "Transmit".

Done!

You have now completed the process and should expect a check in the mail in approximately 40 days.

Returning to Browse Reports, we may now review that the status of the invoice has changed to "Invoiced" and the button is now green.
